Time. We are always running out and there are never enough hours in the day to fit everything we want in. I applaud the people who balance working full-time, running a blog and parenting, all whilst trying to live your own lives! Yet when the time comes that you have a moment to sit down and write… nothing! I’ve been sat here staring at this page for the past two weeks trying to think of something to write – I’ve hit the blogging wall.
We’ve all been here, right? You really want to write some great content and grow your blog but at the same time you have no idea what to write about and also at the same time there are too many topics to choose from! There’s only so many times we can write about our top 10 whatever or where we’ve been recently (considering I’ve only left the flat about 5 times in the past two weeks and most of that was to go to Aldi, I’m guessing a post on that wouldn’t be that exciting for you!).
It’s times like this that I wish I had a blogging niche (or a million pounds so I could travel the world and buy loads of stuff, ya know but hey ho) so that at least it was something specific that I had to focus on and not the endless possibilities that are out there. Sometimes, I think of a great idea for a post but then fall at the last hurdle because I can’t decide on the photos to accompany it – the number of draft posts I have with titles but no content or content but no photos is shameful.
I want to write about stuff that I think you, the reader, will enjoy or learn from or at least make you smile once in a while! The blogging community is enormous and there are so many amazingly talented people who write fab content and take gorgeous photos, sometimes it’s hard to write about something that hasn’t been done once before or even write something that is the tiniest bit as good as the rest out there. It’s so hard not to compare yourself to others, I’m guilty of that, but I always try to remember why I started this blog and the fact that people actually read my posts is crazy and I’m super grateful for that. It’s not about numbers or engagement – it’s about doing something that you love.
Anyway, what I’m trying to say – rather badly – is basically it’s okay to feel like you’ve hit a wall and it’s okay that you aren’t as organised as you wanted to be, blog as frequently or infrequently as you want – it’s up to you! People who love you and your content will wait, everyone loves a bit of suspense! or do they?…
Oh, and yeah let me know if there’s something you want me to blog about so I’m not sat staring at a blank page for another two weeks, cheers.
