22 Things I’ve Learnt in 22 Years

Today is my 22nd birthday so I thought it would be a good time to start getting back into blogging! I’ve been super busy but I won’t bore you with the details – well not until I write a blog post on it (soz babez)!. Here’s a list of things that I’ve learnt in my 22 years on this crazy planet, enjoy!

  1. It’s okay to have an obsession with houseplants – they all need a loving home okay!
  2. A year on from my last birthday post and it’s still acceptable to watch Friends on repeat 24/7…
  3. Always wear suncream – honestly Baz Lurhmann was right, especially in this heatwave!
  4. Spanx are your new best friend!
  5. Your mum is 99.9% right most of the time (0.01% up from last year!)
  6. Shopping does not equal happiness
  7. Just be YOURSELF
  8. Make time to speak to your family, they won’t be around forever
  9. If you are struggling with mental health, SPEAK TO SOMEONE – honestly, it does help!
  10. Dogs are THE BEST THING on this planet… I have yet to get one but a girl can dream…
  11. True crime documentaries and crime dramas are the best kinds of TV shows
  12. Learn to say NO – don’t let people peer pressure you
  13. There will always be one person at work that you don’t like – It can literally be the smallest thing that makes you not like them and from then on everything they do just irritates you…
  14. It’s totally okay to have a second breakfast, lunch or dinner!
  15. You will eventually lose touch with some of your old friends but that’s okay because the ones who stick around will stay for life
  16. All those years of eating junk food will catch up with you – trust me, I learnt the hard way (hence the Spanx!)
  17. Just because there is a sale on doesn’t mean you have to spend money (jeez I sound like my mum…)
  18. There’s still plenty of time to settle down with someone – just enjoy now!
  19. Binge watching an entire series on Netflix in one sitting is totally okay…
  20. Try to save a bit of money each month, you never know when you might need it!
  21. Blogging doesn’t have to be about numbers, as long as you are happy, that’s all that matters!
  22. And finally, in the words of RuPaul…

Saying Goodbye to Life as a Student*

That’s it, it’s all over… not to be dramatic or anything but yeah I’ve officially finished my time at university and am starting a new chapter in my life! It’s crazy to think that four years have flown by and now it’s time for me to be a ‘proper’ adult. I’ve spent the last few days exploring because it turns out that I haven’t actually been to very many places besides the uni campus! I thought I’d share with you my uni experience and try to give some tips on how to survive being a student, from budgeting tips to studying!

Homeware Bits I’m Lusting After

So yeah, I finish uni soon and I’ve recently secured a flat and I’m so excited to a). stop living in a tiny box room where I basically sleep in my kitchen… b). to finally have an oven (seriously, it’s been chaos) and a bath (yes I’m going to go mad in Lush!) and c). be able to make it my own and fill it with LOTS of houseplants! I thought I’d share with you some homeware bits that I’m lusting after, enjoy!

Finding the Balance

Time. We are always running out and there are never enough hours in the day to fit everything we want in. I applaud the people who balance working full-time, running a blog and parenting, all whilst trying to live your own lives! Yet when the time comes that you have a moment to sit down and write… nothing! I’ve been sat here staring at this page for the past two weeks trying to think of something to write – I’ve hit the blogging wall.
